Social Media Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Stories A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Manual Updates Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
